Hello Stampers ~ did the title Happy Birthday Sailboat caused to wonder what was going on?
I had Remi yesterday afternoon as her other grandmother had a pet emergency and Jess had 2 appointments. She watched Happy Feet and a dinosaur movie along with playing and coloring. Then of course she wanted lots to eat. It was a good afternoon.
We have an inspiration challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments this time.
When I looked at this photo I immediately saw the red lobster and the turquoise water. I knew I wanted to use those on my card. Since the inspiration photo was all about the water also I knew I had to use the Swirly Bird bundle to create my Happy Birthday Sailboat.
I began with the sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges
I knew I would have to flip the sketch and do some rearranging of the banners but I thought it would be a good one to use. I began by cutting out 2 of the wavy shapes using Pool Party. I then added Wink of Stella to the waves and sponged the edges. Dots of Tombow were added to the back and they were set aside to dry. I stamped the sailboat onto a scrap of white and cut it out. The banners were cut from Crumb Cake and the ends were flagged with the Banner Triple punch. The sentiment was stamped with Memento ink and the edges of the banners were sponged with Crumb Cake. Now it is time to assemble the card. The waves were added to the white layer first so that the excess could be cut off. This layer was then added to the card base. The banners were added overlapping them. The sailboat was added with a dimensional. To finish off the card the circle swirls were stamped in the upper left hand corner. Here is my completed creation.
